Do you think the fence is too distracting or it helps to lead the eye to the subject?

As it is, to me, the architecture is the subject and the child and that little bench are distractions. For me, to change that around, I would crop the bottom of the photo right where the near fence support and the shadow of the fence intersect. The child then becomes your focal point in my opinion. :)

Good call, I agree with your assessment. That bench has to go.

There's some neat stuff here, but for me, as-is, the image doesn't work. I think Raiven's comments are right on. Additionally, the problem with the fence is that it's a perfect leading line to guide your eye, but to what? You need something at the end of it...
