Dear All,
As usual your C&C is awaited eagerly.

To be honest, I find the background slightly distracting (my eye wants to go to the background first instead of to the model) and the portrait lacks sharpness and is also a bit dark IMO.

For what it is and where it is (A capture at some sort of event) it's very good, but as a portrait proper, there are a few areas for improvement as Casil has mentioned. The model has very striking hair, and an amazing smile; there are some huge possibilities here. If possible try and get her back for a "real" portrait session, and select a simpler background. You'll also need reflectors to provide some extra illumination on the face as her hair is so thick that it loses detail.
Love her hair. A little bit of light to her eyes would imo, make her glow. Right now I find them hard to see.

Thank you all for your comments. I will try to work with her one of these days.
Shot 1 is closest with a nice smile, but as stated already the background is distraction, as is the hair across the eyes.

I'm going to disagree a bit here. Shot one has an infectious smile, that for me compliments the festive background. To improve shot 1, as already mentioned, a bit more fill flash/reflector could have been used to brighten up the eyes.
For a bald dude like me, that hair is just a tease:p

I like the second one the best. You can pop her eyes a bit in photoshop. I would rework the color and density a bit. For an impromptu image, it is spot on.
