Backlighting Beauty

I like the pose and the models brilliant blue eyes. I think there might be too much fill light on the left side of the models face which makes her face look unbalanced. Burning in the slight shadow there might help

This is a cute and sexy pose, I like it. For me it's the bright spot on the forehead that could be toned down slightly. Hope that helps

I agree with the above; as well, I think perhaps your choice of background should be reconsidered... with just a touch more PP this could be a killer model shot, BUT there's too much distracting detail in the background. Can I ask why you used those particular settings? I think an ISO of 1 or 200, combined with a wide-open aperture might have made for a much softer background, which would have in turn caused your model to jump right out of the image at the viewer.

At 4.30am this time of year in a park full of trees the light is getting down and creating huge shadows. I'm guessing the 400 ISO was used to open up those shadows a bit in the background.

I think, that with so much happening in the background, a much lower fstop would have helped here as TI has suggested. I also think the path is a huge distraction but I guess the backlighting was a priority for this shot so perhaps the choises were a bit limited in this location?

I like the treatment Chantelle. You seem to have gotten a handle on that technique I showed you quite well. The model and her pose look very nice indeed.

In the end I think the background lets this down somewhat. Some smart cropping may help with that.

I was using settings my teacher asked me to, and there wasn't alot of light so I couldn't drop the ISO. I know how I will do these late evening shots so I don't have to drop the ISO at all, I will take 2 shots, one for the background and then one with the model. It's so much easier that way. On my screen her face isn't birght at all?
If I used a lower Fstop, then it would be black. It's also hard when the whole class of 8 people were split in two groups and you had to work together with posing her and had to just wait your turn to get in a get a shot. It was frustrating because we didn't have a lot of time to think.

Overall I would say it is a great shoot. The model is posed nicely. Her forehead is a little hot. I use an off camera flash to balance the background and the subject.
