Like fishers, photographers have stories about "the one that got away".
I have a couple, a little girl about six walking with here mom. I had a camera at the ready, but couldn't do it, the only thing that would have made it interesting, was that the little girl was walking with a white cane. I couldn't. Recently, walking up one of the worst alleys in the downtown eastside, towards my workplace, I saw four young guys playing with a volleyball, kicking it amongst themselves, like hackeysack. Quite a refreshing change from the usual in that alley, which is people buying, selling and using drugs, urinating, or even trying to sleep. My mental image of the "alley people" is one of degradation, of being aliens, and here it was being shattered. A pleasant contrast with the usual stereotype.
Anyone else care to share some? Kurt

Walked by a stylish shop window in which two attractive women were walking around with and dressing half-naked mannequins. Didn't have the camera with me--that'll teach me.
