Which version is better?
First is less sharp, than the second one. I crop this from a bigger landscape, and I think I'll post the entire image just to have an ideea, and to give me some advices.

I'll have a go.

The most obvious thing I see is how centered the subject is. I don't mind centered subjects but only when there's good reason to do so.

In this case the sky seems to have some nice character so I'd have shown more sky, less water.

I notice that the photo was taken very late in the evening. Not sure if that's when it gets dark for you in your area or not but I'd be taking this much closer to dusk. Right about when the lights first go on. In this way you'll get much more sky detail and colour.

I notice some blur in there so I'm guessing some movement was created somehow. Make sure you use a timer or remote switch for sure. If you have mirror lockup then use that also.

You used f13 and 100 ISO which gave you an exposure time of 60 secs. I'd be shortening this.
No need to use anything over about f8 for this (DOF isn't a big issue due to the subject matter all being close relatively) and an ISO of 200 will be fine. This should allow you to drop that exposure time down quite a bit hopefully.

I'd be inclined to pan back a bit if possible also. Not sure if there's crap in the way or not but a wider angle might be nicer.

That's about it I think. Hope that helps.

MA has some good advice here. For me, this doesn't work well as a vertical the way it is. I prefer the horizontal version. If you're going back I'd try a few horizontals that are closer if possible. Or use MA's good idea - less water, more sky. or even less sky more water. :twocents:
