I took this photo at the photography course I am currently doing. Let me know what you think of this portrait. :)

I like it but I think it would be better if the leg in the lower part of the photo was either more visible or not at all.

Ah yes, I didn't really notice that much. Very good point, thanks for pointing that out.
Fixed that up, does this look better?

These are quite good indeed for someone trying this for the very first time - LOVE LOVE the sharp eyes; it is what draws you in immediately.
To improve the shot even more, the lighting seems a bit harsh (in particular the direction of the light) here for this model (esp in shot 1) and the glare on the model's forehead, cheek and nose, to me is a distraction. It reveals a lot of skin imperfections which to my eye should be somewhat retouched in pshop.
You might want to experiment with this model again (if possible) and use frontal light. Normally frontal light is a bit boring but for 'glamourish' shots it works well for people with less than perfect skin. Light coming from an angle reveals MUCH more skin texture than frontal light.
Describing the lighting pattern you used would really be helpful for newbies.
Hope that helps - Marko

Unfortunately will probably never see her again. She was a model in my course, next week we get a new model. I added a glamor blur to those photos, what do you think?

The originals aren't there so it's hard to compare.. but these seem softer and likely what a client would prefer imo. hope that helps

I can see them all ... the glamour blur versions soften her skin nicely.

Version 1 from post one is definitely gone. The others are there and yup now I can compare, as mentioned I like the retouched ones, nice job.

I'm confused. How many photos do you see on page 1?

I see four images on page one. The first image shows on post 3. There was an image in post 1 but it's now gone...here's a screenshot for proof :)

I also see 4 images. The first one is gone. I also like the softer portraits.

I see five, and the softer treatment is nice.

How odd that some of you can see 4 and some can see 5. On my screen there is five there, but it doesn't matter too much as the first image was just one the same as the next except there was part of a leg showing where in the 2nd photo I cropped it out and it makes a better photo.
Thanks for your comments, the images look alot better! I love them!:thankyou:
FYI, I am missing the first one now too. I could see it when originally posted.
The touched up ones are great.
I can only see your last two! :) I'm really goofed up here!!!!

I played with these images again, they seemed too dark to me.

LOL, now there are only two images on the first page that appear for me. The first image and the second to last appear on the first page, and the rest are gone. I'm now on my laptop and earlier I was on my desktop. I don't really know if that's got anything to do with it or not. I find myself coming back to this thread just to see which images are present :P. Your most recent are visible to me of course.
Anyway, I really like the lighter versions. They are almost too light for me, but that could be because of my laptop screen. It's brightness is set fairly high. I think I would like to see the healing brush used on her blemishes. Everytime I see the portraits, it's the first thing I notice. They are still really great images though!

Got me stuffed ... I see all the images ... none have dissappeared at all.
I suspect a caching issue. Try CTRL-F5.

I did ... yesterday ... no change. But I just did it again now you've mentioned it and ... I lost one image. That proved it was a caching issue so I opened up IE8 (I've been on Firefox) and there's only 1 image on page 1 visible now.

Chantelle ... you've deleted some images from your Flickr album (probably because you made better versions) but this is what is causing the problems and now we can't compare the originals with the newer ones.
It's best not to delete any photos from albums after they've been posted here at ph.ca because people might look at the threads in months/years to come and miss out on the learning experience provided by the images and the comments. This is especially true for the critiques section of course. A few people do this and it can be quite frustrating.
What I do is have a photobucket album I use to throw up anything, especially photos I'm unsure of. I only put my better stuff on Flickr. This way I keep Flickr a bit more tidy and if someone I meet wants to see my photos I send them there.

The sure way to fix the problem I think would be to edit the posts that are missing photos and delete the links and redo them.. I "think" that everytime a photo is uploaded to those sites that they are assigned a different name which is usually a string of numbers etc.
for example, the last photo you have in this thread is named "3546695389_cf0fd6dc3d_o.jpg". I doubt that you named it that :).

Yea thats what I did to start with but then pictures went missing. I found out what I did, I saved other photos I redid over other photos by accident (blonde moment), I redid all these and fixed them all up, you should all be able to see all the photos now.Let me know if you can't.
