I did a lot of work on this one. Went a lot more traditional. What do you think?

It's an OK treatment but I like the all colour version much better.
The selective colouring on the tools does not work here for me and serves to detract from the family dynanamic. In the original colour shot the tools added to the shot but now too much importance is being placed on them imo. The actual b/w is quite well done and does not need the selectve colouring here imo.
Hope that helps - Marko

Thanks Marko

I truly value open and honest opinions :)

I'll go back to the original one.

That's why they pay me the big bucks - yeah right!
My pleasure on the critique :)

Actually I like the B&W version. I found the color of the background is too distracting. I can focus more on the person for this one. And the lighting on the B&W works better. But one thing is I don't like the color trick on this B&W photo. I would prefer all B&W. Just my personal taste.

I agree. I like the BW, but all of it that way.

I'm going to agree on the colour comments above but add that the props could have been better selected I think. The guys are sitting on a Ride On and two of them are holding fishing items. I think a stronger image would have resulted in all holding garden implements. Not sure shiny shoes and thongs (flip flops for you guys??) works either.

I really like the B/W contrast and clarity in this though.
