Was surfing through NPR website and came across this article and the radio program on a new book coming out about Dissection: Photographs of a Rite of Passage in American Medicine 1880-1930 contains hundreds of pictures of medical students posing with the cadavers they were learning to dissect. Another interesting take on uses of photography over time.

How times have changed; students would be expelled and likely up on crimminal charges for doing that sort of thing today. Fascinating - thanks!

They definitely had a sense of the macabre back then, what with the seances, Gothic novels, etc.
