Some nice action shots here MA. I like the look of the girl in shot 1 and the slightly skew helmet...Actually that makes me wonder in these days of crazy insurance etc how all riders are not required to wear helmets

I know what you mean AntZ. That girl you mentioned (if you look closely) is holding onto a broken reign! She's racing that horse with a broken steering wheel!!

These are VERY well done MA :highfive: and so interesting!!! I just LOVE the shot in post 2 of just the horses feet and the rider's shoe.

You have a great sense of timing for the action shots.
We have a wee rodeo out our way, if you'd ever want a winter break come out here for the Calgary Stampede in July. You'll get to see some championship chuck wagon racing. The small local rodeos are much better for shooting since you can get right down on the field.

6.5 frames per second helps with that 'great timing' ;) Makes for a lot of chimping though! Although many of my shots are single shots where I just saw a moment happening and snapped once. Burst mode is a safer option though. I avoid it after awhile and I have some good ones in the bag so the post processing is limited a bit more. I went home with about 500 shots after chimping out at least another 100. If I'd been shooting to sell then I'd have taken many more and stayed all day instead of 4 hours.

When I had 3 shots per sec on my 400D I thought 6.5 was unnecessay .. then I went shooting birds with Antz and saw what his 6.5 frames captured that my 3 missed. It's an advantage at times for sure. But I honestly don't use it all the time. It's nicer somehow to get it right with a single single.
