I like them both! Maybe the second would be my pick although I like the texture in the first as well. :)

Kat, this is wonderful to see. Being a sucker for these types of shots, I agree with Ig and say the first one is the best. Its great to see people get away from landscapes, wildlife, street-life etc. These types of images are where its at. Good job!

I like these types of shots when I see them and I like these particular ones quite a bit. I haven't quite figured out why. ;) They are kind of abstract and I guess my tech brain has a hard time with abstract.

Lovely shots though and I really like them!

Are you familiar with the work of Paul Strand? I think he would have liked these images very much. Straight Photography is pure photography.

Do yourself a favor, and find a gallery of his work. Look closely at what he photographed and see how much of your work resembles his.

I think you might be surprised.

Thanks Barefoot. No, I never heard of him but I do see some things there that got me thinking about that. I take this as a full compliement! Thanks!

This is all I really look for now. I still practice landscapes, humans, etc. But if Im out seriously trying to get some good images, these are the types I strive for.

Funny part about it is, when you take pictures of people, they get weirded out and wonder what you are doing, call you a creeper and so on. But, when you start taking pictures like this, people seem to even look at you with an even more strange look. What are you taking a picture of? Are you really taking a picture of the screws on a park bench? Then you get the, people that just stare at you....... What are they taking a picture of? The will ask, What are you taking a picture of? Then you have try explaining it to them.... oh boy, that one is a lot of fun.
Its frustrating when the image doesn't come out quite as you planned. You will say to yourself, What did I see in that? How stupid did I look for something that did not turn out? After a while, its easy to get the camera to capture it the way you want and then the images are great abstracts and are more pleasing than any landscape or wildlife images.
Sorry about the rant but I just thought I would say good job on these again. Its always nice to watch people grow and expand their interests in photography. :highfive:
