Hello all! I have enjoyed looking at all your pictures so far. Their is some great talent here. Im not very talented, but hopefully I can get better with more practice...
Here are a couple of pictures i took:

No cropping or anything done to the first one.

Hi Matth,

I really like the first shot because it is taken from an unusual point of view, the subject gives an interesting expression and it is quite sharp. If this were my shot I might try to increase the contrast of the fingers and forearm because they look a bit flat, whereas the face and hair have much better contrast. Although the eyelashes on the eye closest to the camera are sharp the eyeball is just slightly soft. Normally, you'd want to focus on the eye itself and make that the sharpest part of a portrait unless you are going for a speacial effect. But this is a good portrait!

The second shot is missing something and I'm not sure what. Technically it's too bright on the right side and needs burning in (darkening). But I also feel the composition is a bit off or the angle is too conventional.

Hope that helps and please continue to post!

Thanks

Marko

Im not really a big fan of the second shot either. It is way too conventional.

The reason i like the first shot is because it isn't a conventional angle. I try not to use special effects with my pictures, but i agree it could look a lot better with a few adjustments.

Thanks for your input, i will post some more a little later on.
Great site you have here, im glad i was able to find it!
