Ever been curious what a camera and lens halved looks like well here it is.

'We're looking at a gigantor Canon 400mm f/4 lens ($5,500) and an older 1Ds body (around $1,000 used). But does it now cost $3,250?" Gizmodo

I have made cut away models for trade shows, it's a lot of work. I've never done anything this intricate but some of the smaller stuff I actually glued everything together that was threaded and then very carefully machined it. Sometimes it takes a few tries so this could have cost them several bodies and lenses. Many parts are made separately and then reassembled. Parts like the batteries are faked. I wish more people around here would like it done since it is so much fun finding out how some stuff is made.
