Thanks everyone! I lugged it into work today. Rainy and foggy but I'll see what I can do without getting it wet. I couldn't leave it at home on the first day! ;) Hope to post one or two tonight.

The igster got his new toy! Congratulations sir. There nothing like getting a new toy. Its almost as much fun trying to learn how to use it. All the new tips and tricks, each time you figure one out, you will feel more confident about your purchase.

Yes, what she said. It will never be the same. There are times where you will be sitting there just taking stupid pictures to try and figure the camera and its options out. Not only that, you will take minutes, hours, days, and weeks to try and take a picture of one subject. Have fun!

Here's a few sample shots. It rained heavily most of the day and I was afraid of getting it wet. I took the first shot before heading into work and the others during a rainy lunch break on the 4th level of 5 level parkade. They are forecasting a wonderful weekend with sunny skies and temps around 18C! I'm pretty excited about getting out this weekend.

Yeah, the feeling you have when opening a new camera for the first time and holding in your hands is awesome. Wish that feeling would stay forever.

I like the second image here. Looks like youre off to an exceptional start.

I like the first shot. Not only is it a cool composition but it shows real fore thought about using the wet weather to your advantage and finding a subject/scene where the rain adds to the mood of the image. Great start Iggy!

I'm using an XSi (called the 450D here in Europe). It's a great camera for it's size and weight, although I leave the grip on mine almost permanently. With two batteries in, I can go out shooting for weeks between needing a recharge!

Thanks! I actually did plan that out when I noticed the somber weather. Thanks for noticing!

I have a feeling I'll be buying a bunch of accessories now. I did buy an extra battery since I can no longer pop in a couple of double-As.

Nice work! I very much like the first of the three (and recognize the locations of all of them).

Not a bluenoser but I've spent some time there. I was posted to Halifax from 1987 - 1992.
