Got this email the other day.

Any members have any opinions - many thanks!

"Hello,

I'm a brazilian architect who has apllied for some Photography schools in Toronto. I'd like to ask you a simple question concerning the best school to attend. If you were accepted to the following schools, which one would you choose? (I have special interest in fine art photography):

Ryerson University
Ontario College of Arts and Desing OCAD
Sheridan Institute (Oakville)
Guelph-Humber College"

Sheridan is renowned for its photography course and Ryerson is as good if not slightly better and Ryerson is a University and Sheridan is a Community College. Either one would be a great choice but I would go with Ryerson simply because it is a University and will be better on your Resume then a Community College. OCAD I have met over the last year many who attended there and most are waiters/waitresses, I am sure they have success stories but .... and Guelph/ Humber is not in Toronto, it is on the Guelph Campus and just would have to pass as I rather go to School in Toronto or another Major Urban centre, just my pure bias and more access to Media, Galleries, etc. One of my best friends son Graduated from Sheridan and says is it was a phenomenal course and anyone I have met who went to Ryerson has nothing be praise for it.

I'm going to say Ryeson, simply because I've got a friend who goes there and in her attempts to convince to move there, she kept going on and on about their photography program. Plus, overall Ryeson is one the best Unis in Canada, anyways =)

Thanks for that Info - I have heard good things about some of these schools but my knowledge isn't current and things change.

Thx for the updates!
