These were taken in my basement this evening. These were long exposures, and were a pain to setup. I'm offering a virtual cookie if anyone can figure out what's generating the images. These are NOT PP'd.

I glad you guys like them. The 3rd shot is the top of the source. Antz is partially right, it's plasma. The actual source is a Tesla Coil. The purple streamers are plasma, and will flow on or through other objects. Shot #1 is a Vacuum Tube Diode placed on the coil. The blue is caused by a lack of oxygen and nitrogen. Incandescent lights create a green glow. Shot #2 is a beer bottle (empty) with the plasma tracking up the glass. The brown/amber light spots are the streamers on the other side of the bottle. I have another few shots I'll post in a bit.

The Tesla Coil project is from my other hobby, high voltage electronics. The coil stands 2'7", has 5000V transformer, and the output from the top is around 60,000V. There is no amperage in the coil, so it's not lethal to humans. 60kV just stings like a s.o.b. and is the equivalent of being hit with a tazer. In the coiling world, this is considered a small one.

Note: High voltage electronics high electromagnetic fields, and coils like mine and larger generate a lot of electrostatic fields as well. Valuable electronic equipment (like DSLR's and computers) need to be shielded in a Faraday cage.
