I'm guessing this is direct flash.

These were so small, about 1 inch or 25mm long for the bigger one and only about 3/4 inch or 18mm for the little guy at the top.
Yes ... I used on camera, external flash.
Awesome =) They're so tiny! They don't get bothered by the flash?

Nope ...flash never worried them.
Oh really? I always figured that animals would get kinda freaked out by the flash...Interesting.

Well withthe frogs they want to hop away but we shine a bright light in their eyes and keep it there. That helps the camera to focus in the dark and perhaps helps with the flash thing too.
Snakes jump when you flash them quite often. So do girls ;)
