Here's two images of water shooting up, which one is better? Or do you like both?

I find the composition of #1 more pleasing, but I think this might look better had a much slower shutter speed been used to give the water a 'softer' feel. Additionally, you may want to think about using a longer lens and shooter from a greater distance or stitching multiple images to eliminate the excess DoF you get with such a wide lens. This would render the background softly focused and less distracting. Overall though, nice images.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

I agree with Tirediron and would try cropping the top down to the top of the bigger dark cloud.

cheers

Thanks, I was going for the sharp freeze water in place look rather tahn the soft look. I didn't try both as I didn't have my tripod with me...I do take my tripod with me in my car, but as I was walking around a garden my tripod is too heavy to carry around!
