I am attracted to this picture of the decaying leaf. It seems so powerful when you think of the leaf's circle of life and it's now at it's end. The only distraction I see is the vine like green vegetation that hangs down over it.

thanks RD. I thought about removing that lichen (lichen for want of a better word) but decided it was as it was, and it was everywhere. Apart from removing a few dead sticks in the streams I like to shoot this sort of stuff how it really is.

Very pretty. I like the vividness of the colors.

I really like this shot. the lichen makes a nice contrast to the dead leaf.

Thanks Bambi. In hindsight I probably should have moved the lichen after getting this shot and taken a couple without it as well.

I kind of agree with you about moving stuff like the lichen MA...I see the scene also as something is living off something that's dying. I like it as it is because it speaks to me that way.
Nice shot!

Thanks Casil. Yes, I usually like to present the photo as what is really there, not necessailly a perfect world in our eyes.

Very nice :)
Very nearly complementary colours with the leaf and the background. The contrast makes the leaf almost pop out as if it's 3D.
Now heres a question. If the leaf holding the lichen on or is the lichen holding the leaf onto the branch? ;)

Thanks SJ ... the lichen was just dangling over ... no chicken or egg debate here ;)
