Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anyone knows of a Canadian insurance policy for photography equipment.

I do have an extra rider on my homeowners insurance, but there are some big limitations. For example, if I start selling my photography, the policy is void. If I go on a business trip, they will not cover my camera, even though I wouldn't be using the camera for business.

Has anyone found a solution for this?
Thanks

Yeah, I know this is a really oooold thread, but it's exactly the question I just had. How do insure your camera against theft or breakage?

Do any of you folks buy an insurance rider as Troyj mentioned or one of the protection plans offered by retailers for your camera or lenses? I think Consumer Reports did an article a while back on how these plans are not worth it for most purchases, but for a DSLR, I don't know it just might be worth it, if the plan does not have loopholes where they can avoid fixing your gear. Maybe the plans offered by major camera stores like B&H and Adorama are better?
