Anyone have any idea? I'm stumped. It's near the inlet alone in the trees.

Well, it's definitely not a stump...
The Bf here says it looks like supports for a railway trestle.

That would be my guess too unless a significant stream runs underneath of it in which case it could be part of a lock.

I was thinking the same, but that does not explain the huge blocks in between the supports. Maybe a protective barrier for something. It seems like it is most likely a viaduct of some sort, for trains or something. Could be part of those water transport systems too. I forget the name of those things.

The taller pair look like bearing or trunnion pedestals. Maybe a turning gear sat on the smaller block. Just a wild guess. :)

Well there was a sawmill around this location in the early 1900's.

Have you done any research on the site? I might try googling the site or area and see what comes up. I dont many of us here are going to be much help.
