Singing Frog?

Today I went to the park to get out as it was another nice day. The area is still pretty swampy but the frogs have awoken from hibernation and have started singing. My goal this year is to get a good image of a singing from with its throat distended(i think thats the right term). Anyways, I sat on a log, in the swamp, and had the little buggers all around me, but could not find one. I could here them LOUD and clear, but the seemed to be evading me pretty well. I have many pictures of toads and frogs, but was wondering if any of you might have a picture of this. Its not the average frog or toad shot which is why I want to get it. Anyone out there with one?

Yep, thats it. Thats looks like a bullfrog to me. We have those all over here. I could probably get a shot similar to this but have been looking for those little guys. I like this shot, but want an image of a smaller frog with a paper thin throat. These are by far NOT your standard amphibian shots. Nice job here.

I think I know the type of shot you're after, It's like a really thin delicate looking membrane that sort of blows up like a small balloon. I've only encountered this old Bullfrog. I think he was eating all the little frogs.

You are correct sir. These little frogs everywhere around here. However, they are small and camoflouged really well. They are really easy to hear, but hard to find.

Just one question, Michael. Are you immune to mosquito bites? With the amount of time you spend on or near water, you must be. :D

I am the first person they look for to bite but here in Vancouver I've had no problems. I remember working on the railroad in Ontario for a bridge repair gang...I was wishing for a magnifying glass and machine gun:D

What about hunting them at night with a flashlight JJ? I think they are more active at night...correct me if I'm wrong...

You are correct, but the parks close at sundown. I can personally tell you that the law enforcement around here is a joke and would be more than happy to scorn me or charge me with something if I were to try this. Although I could call the parks and get permission to do that. Thanks for the idea.
