The first time since 2019 a local town held its outdoor event,'Third Thursday.' They have it from April through October every year. Last year the Covid shut it down all year. It's the only local event I have an opportunity to get out amongst crowds to get some street shots, beside the Annual Maple Leaf Parade every year in Sept. One drawback of living in a small Midwestern town. I used my little pocket shooter for these.

Also, welcome to the forum David. I didn’t notice when I first replied to your post that it was your first. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Many strong images in this set!!
But shot 1 post 1 is gold. It's a fantastic slice of this little town. Your comp here is rock solid to my eye and the framing is just awesome!
Can I ask - where is this?

Thank you Marko for your kind comments. This is in the town of Joplin, Missouri, population around 50K. that's the town i work in but i live in a much, much small town called Diamond, population 900...or so. It's about a 25 minute drive from my house to where they have the Third Thursday events in downtown Joplin. As I mentioned it's the only opportunity I get to try and do some street photography. I always appreciate you viewing and commenting.

This is a great series of photos Lorey. I feel a great sense of community in these photos. There are also some great characters amongst them.
I am really loving the first 4 shots in particular.

Thank you RM! I think everyone was just glad to be out and about at a community gathering after being confined for a year. I appreciate you viewing and commenting on my photos.

These photos are great and really tell a story about this little town.
I used to play a game years ago with a gentleman named Greg Swartz (I hope I spelled that correctly) He was involved with Joplin Little Theatre as an actor and director. He used to talk about the plays they put on and I was always so jealous I could not go. He sadly passed away suddenly a couple of years ago. My FB feed has been the worse for it. I miss his wit and humour. What a small world!

Thank you Jas. I've never been to the Joplin Little Theater. I've been to the Stained Glass Theater in Joplin before the tornado took it out. If you're not familiar with that theater it's just like the Joplin Little Theater except they do Christian based plays. I like live theater and keep saying I'm going to Joplin Little Theater but just never make it. There's a really nice Little Theater in Springfield, about an hour from here, I'd like to visit sometime too. Been to Broadway plays when i was in eight and ninth grade with school trips. I lived in New Jersey then. only about 30 minutes from the BIG City.
I appreciate you taking the time to look and comment.
