I think the first one is good. The second one is much better to my sight. the vertical lines of the brick and doorway added along with the chaotic lines of the vines and the odd shaped lantern gives the photo a very interesting look. Great shot!

I agree it would be nice if the lantern was lit.

Funny, I like the first version better. Simply because there are the opposite lines. The second shot is nice as well, but to me the door might have been shown complete, not cropped .... leaves me wondering about the shape of it. So do it in portrait mode, rather than landscape, to include the whole door.

Matt, I do have some shots including the whole door, but I didnt like the composition when the full door was included
