wow awesome place! Sky is more exciting in shot 2.
Volleyball net may be a distraction, not sure.

Yeah it is close to home, but I think we tend to take these places for granted when we live there. When I saw some weather coming in I thought I would take the new kit out for a trial run.

Yes it is a few minutes later but there is also a bit more dramatic post processing involved.

I had mixed feeling about this. I have also had mixed comments about it too - balance vs distraction. In retrospect I wish I had taken a few steps backward and included the whole net

These are nice and really sharp. I like the net because it lends a leading line to the horizon, sort of opposite the boardwalk. And I can easily imagine players on the beach when the weather is more settled and the tide out.
New kit? Hmm? Maybe a Canon 5DIV? With a rectilinear wide lens, maybe the 11-24 f/4? Sometimes we have to fall into the black hole....

Yes - spot on, you guessed it. I had been hanging out for a 5D for a while now. First the long, long, long rumours of the mk iv always being imminent, then waiting for the price to settle - oh and having to sell a kidney
