Toronto has two seasons. Winter and Construction. This year construction is insane in the downtown core. In just a couple of hours walking around I captured all these construction pics. There is hardly a street that has been missed. At times the traffic is almost paralyzed. It's even an obstacle course for the pedestrians as you can see. I guess the only positive thing is ... the economy can't be too bad if they can afford to to do all of this.

Cool stuff. Calgary is in about the same predicament and continues with several major towers in the works over the next four years, including Brookfield place East and the Telus Sky tower.

Thanks JAS. I think there is so much construction in Toronto this year because of preparation for next years Pan-Am Games. As for Calgary it's always booming and lots of construction isn't it.

What a mess! With us, it's freeways this year (and the last several years). At the moment, I no longer have to make a hard right to take my usual exit.

Q1 - We've got the freeways as well. Hard to get pics of those while you are driving. They've got the main highway to the downtown under construction for two years. A normal 45 minute drive is now an hour and a half.

My sympathies. The photos capture the chaos and frustration well, but I bet you'll be glad when it's all finally finished.
