Im a Geman studying photography in the Netherlands.
My passion for photography started some years ago.
I already took pictures when I was little.
During my study I`ve discoverd the beauty of analogue black and white photography.

Thanks alot! :) Im just wondering where can I ask some questions about the photography business? I wanna start my own business now. I still ave 2 years left for my study ;) But I´d like to start now. Just to be sure it works ;) Is there any topic in the forum where I can ask things like that? Already thanks in advance!

The general photography forum might be the best place for business questions and we do have some experience there as a collective group.
That said, the majority of members just shoot for themselves.

As for business info, I cannot help you, but can give you some advice. What kind of business you looking to do, portrait or shot for a newspaper/magazine (or just as an artist)? If you are just looking to just do portraits, the biggest thing is building a portfolio, advertising, and getting a clientele base.

If you want to do work for a newspaper/magazine, do what I did, just ask around. I came friends with a couple photographers on Facebook that work for a local weekly newspaper and just asked about freelancing. You will also need a portfolio for this as well (I don't think they look to hard because they said my stuff was great :laugh: ).

There is a couple professional portrait photographers here, but they usually don't post much of their work, they post their leisure/art images.
