Hi members,
Just wondering how many of you shoot with the plastic LCD screen protector that came with the camera? Thx!

I removed mine and bought a stronger plastic cover (like a screen protector on an iPhone)

leave it on ... most of the time you use your viewfinder to frame a shot, anyways, so the cover is only there to protect your screen for viewing .. once in a while I forget to take off my polarized sunglasses, and then that LCD screen looks weird - not sure if that is because of the protective screen on it or not .... but i'd leave the screen on to keep the camera screen from getting scratched ...

This is what i'm using.
The “AEGIS” Professional LCD Screen Protector from Giotto (http://www.giottosusa.com/screen-protectors)
You won't even know it's there.

I removed mine because it seemed to make it harder to see my shots. I might check out BF's suggestion

You really should look into them, Bambi. A high quality product at an affordable price on amazon. A protector for both the back and top displays is included. When I say you'll forget they're even there, I'm serious. Using them on every thing I own that they offer a model for. Don't skimp and get one of the cheaper makes as the aren't Schott Glass. (unless I'm mistaken, B+W filters are made from Schott Glass, if that helps to make a difference to you)

I put an aftermarket one on that is a bit more able to take the abuse/scratches. I don't look at the screen while I'm shooting so it doesn't make much difference to me, I just want to protect the screen. I don't find the display all that beneficial during daylight hours. I just took a look and it certainly looks like it's been doing the job as it's in pretty bad shape.

The ones I'm using are so cheap I always order two sets. I pulled out the extra set that was ordered for my old D-90 and found that the top display is a perfect fit on my F100. Way cool.

What do you mean by the plastic screen protector that came with the camera. Do you mean the thin plastic that usually comes on the glass whenever you buy any device. I didn't think that would stay on very long. Or do you mean a special protector. I don't recall having got one with my camera.

Yeah, they're usually a "clip on" affair. I don't have a clue where any of the ones that came with my rigs are. No matter. My experience is that they cloud up pretty quickly from use and cleaning.

18686The Nikon comes with a moulded plastic cover which can be removed and replaced at will allowing a quick glance without removing but easy to take off and on for a better view when required. Far heftier than the covers used on for example Iphones and nothing like the thin film on new products. It has a clip top and bottom. I knocked mine off and noted the dust build up behind it and am undecided as to if it really helps against damage or is a collector for dust which is then pressed into the display? It is not flexible it is more like the see through lid of a plastic box.

I don't believe I got one with mine either, and we have the same camera I think.
Either way I don't have one on mine
