Hi members,
Level 2 assignment this month is Diptychs which simply means showing 2 photographs together that work together in some way.
Ok then who will go first?

Looks like it'll be me!
I'm back! :D It's been a chaotic few months and I found myself needing to push myself creatively a bit, so naturally found myself here again. Yesterday I was out in the city centre and saw a scene I knew I just HAD to shoot. I had just read the assignments for this month and knew that this could be a perfect opportunity for this diptych assignment. The photo on the left was the easy one to pick, the second one was hard to narrow down from some of the great ones I ended up with (I might post them in a separate thread later).

A small story to go along with this: Back in the 80's, the building that the street sign is on was the South African Embassy. When Mandela was imprisoned, Glasgow chose to show their support for him by renaming the street in his name, so that when the Embassy sent mail back to South Africa it was addressed with Nelson Mandela Place!! An inspiring move for an inspiring and bold man. There are flowers, candles, wreaths and other tokens laid out along the wrought iron fence, and the whole scene moved me deeply.

I'll give it a go. I spent a half hour or so the other night playing with my flipped 50mm and a bottle of water and caught a few water drop macros. Next time I think I'll try setting up a tripod instead of trying to do it handheld.

Great contributions so far. I've got an idea of one to do. It will be of an old picture, but the first time trying to do a tryptych. Hope that counts as it will be an assignment completely new to me. Just trying to figure out how to do this Lightroom or with my VERY limited knowledge of Photoshop. So far a work in progress.

This one mostly because I didn't want to drag out needle, thread, and hook and eye set, which was my other idea (the sewing would have been in progress, of course).

Marko, is that a festival? Art event? I took a pass with google to see what your title referred to. I was pretty sure it was more than the literal translation. Regardless, I like the sense of motion with the people and the lights.
Jason, I like that train!

Jason, love the sharpness and comp. Excellent diptych.
Mbrager - Love it! Frame it.
Q.O. - It is a huge art installation that is meant to break up the bitter winter with light.
