I’d seen it several times from the interstate, but wasn’t able to locate it by driving the backroads in the area I thought it should be in. I went out looking for it last Friday and managed to get turned around and a little lost. Next thing I know I looked up and saw it sitting there. Resting by an old ramshackle barn at the end of a private air strip was the old “Stude”.

I saw a house through some woods and figured they either owned it or knew who did. I drove on over to ask permission which was gladly given after having to listen to its history and how it came to sit there.

I’ll start with this one.

So this is going to be an expose' of the old Studebaker? I hope so.

I assume that you will also bleed a little of the history of the car as you post the shots? :)

You have my attention ;)

The name of the Studie’s owner is Ed, and he tells me that his pop bought the old thing somewhere back in the early to mid ‘60’s. He remembered that they had heard about it from a relative living in the upstate which meant that it was a little bit of a drive to get there. Having paid $400 for it, which was a tidy little sum in those days, they began preparations to tow it home as it supposedly needed a bit of minor engine work before it could be driven.

how do i go about stealing that? :D
Just right click it ... choose 'properties' ... then copy the url. Then paste into threads when you want.

If you want it on your harddrive then simply right click and save as

It was my way of telling Barefoot I like the photos and I'm still watching with interest.

man - you are full of surprises tonight! what color do you want this one to be? manly blue or like what my grandson chose - dk purple?
Black with a black background to the photo thanks!

And we are stealing Barefoots thread here ... he might insert a size 12 in a size 1 hole if we aren't careful!!

By the way Barefoot ... love the 2nd pic ... love the way we aren't going to see this car as a whole until the end I'm guessing. Very cool.

Aw - thanks BF! Sometimes, it is really hard to resist the urge to tease MA..:D

At any route, i love your story and the photos that go along with it, and i love MA's reaction to it, he is so right - it is like a story unfolding and it is fun anticipating what is next - i love how you are doing that!
