I took this shot at Carolina Tiger Rescue last month while visiting my family in North Carolina. Carolina Tiger Rescue is an awesome organization that rescues exotic pets that are either abandoned or whose owners have finally realized that lions and tigers don't always make great housemates.

This trip was an interesting challenge for me photographically. I had been using two different camera bags over the last couple of months. Like a moron, I forgot to put my battery charger in the bag that I took (the bag that also serves as a diaper bag, lunch box, and mobile toy store for airport travel with my son). Of course, I also forgot to charge my battery before I left. When I got there I quickly realized all of this. Fortunately, my sister had a Sony DLSR that she graciously let me borrow. Going from on make of camera to another was a really interesting experience. It really forced me to slow down and think through what I was doing.
