Prairie Grasses
Came out reasonably well considering the wind.

NICE JAS, and congrat's on the new equipment. You are going to love it. Likin that 1st one of the second set.
(that D800 is an awesome camera, just ensure you buy the best quality glass available to get the most of it, as it does not play well with cheap glass, as you probably already know though)

I'm not sure if Nikon has ever offered a tech bulletin on proper shooting techniques for any of their other models, but you can download a copy for the one released for the D800 here. (http://www.nikonusa.com/en_US/o/Y6wrkA9OU_z04IreazIXl_22UII/PDF/D800_TechnicalGuide_En.pdf) Some of it is just the elementary stuff, but there are parts there that will improve your results right out of the box.
Congratulations!

Lol, Roger will probably kill me for posting those. I was going to mow the lawn, but he said he would do it so instead I went and got my camera and took a few shots. I made him pose for a few as well even though he had not shaved or showered yet. ;)

That sunflower crop is an awesome example of the power of a clean large file.
I'm itching to upgrade to this camera from the D-700 which is in itself a fine camera....
I love these example photo jas - feel free to post many more :)

Help, I have camera envy. But thanks anyway for sharing your thoughts and first attempts with that camera. I can see we are in for some treats. Enjoy.

Congrats on your new toy. Looks like we are going to get treated to lots of great pictures.
My favourite in this set is the first one of the buskers on the bridge. Also enjoying seeing the bridge in all the varying perspectives.
