neat. sorry to have missed this.
I know nothing about light boxes so here's a question:
how do you get some photos on black and others on white?

I'm guessing add a seamless floor and background to the inside of your light box? I've only done white with my home made lightt box. nice shots MA

Very cool. I do not recall ever seeing it before, so must have missed it the first time round.

I used card Bambi. High in the back wall of my box I cut a couple of slots. I stick the card through those and then let it flow down to the front of the box. As Richard says it creates a seamless floor and I can change the colours at will.
Very nice MA. I think I like the white ones more for some reason. I think it is the faint shadows.

Cheers AntZ. Have you ever seen my lightbox? Come around and borrow it sometime if it's something you think you might like to play with.

LOL.....I'm so not going there but my mind certainly is...;)
Funny story...went to the liquor store with my friend today while out on a walk...saw a beer called "thirsty beaver". We made a joke about it to the clerk who stated to my friend (who is gay) that he "oughtta try the beaver sometime you might like it...it's really good"
My friend replied "Sir if you knew anything about me I'm sure you would know that it's not for me" lol! .....after we had left I suggested he'd be more befitting trying a beer called "trousersnake ale" over "thirsty beaver"!
We both roared to which he said he wished he'd thought of that to say instead!

Actually MM ... it came from a similar place you did for me :) It was brought to me by the Bavarian e-friend I had when I met you all those years ago :) I think, she got it off Lufthansa on the way over to stay with us but I'm not sure.

The photos are so evenly lit. I guess that's the point. Can you post a picture of the box itself? List of materials? Thanks.

I'll have to go take some photos first ... but give me a few hours and I'll do that for you.

Thanks for going to the trouble. There are some pictures online of various designs. I like your idea of the slot to put in various color backgrounds.

As you can see ... there is two translucent windows on each side and I bounce two more flouro lights off the ceiling as well.
In the ceiling I have a flap so I can shoot straight down on the subject if needed.
You can see the card going back and into the slot in the back wall. I made the box quite deep so that DOF would aid in keeping a seamless background.
I made this out of what I had around ... in this case it was core-flute which I taped together. Trouble is .... the open side wasn't holding it's square shape properly so I actually riveted some flat aluminum strips around the front edge.
4 clamp on desk lamps with flouro bulbs and I'm done.

Oh, very nifty. The clamp on lamps are tremendous. Thanks so much. I'm planning mine immediately.

Yeh the clamp on lights are very helpful because I can place them where I need and they have those flexible stalks.
