View Full Version : Vivid Sydney - Opera House

Went down and saw the Vivid Sydney festival. Vivid Sydney is a prominent outdoor annual cultural event featuring immersive light installations and projections, performances from local and international musicians and an ideas exchange forum featuring public talks and debates from leading creative thinkers.

The event is held annually during winter in the Southern Hemisphere over the course of three weeks in May and June. The centrepiece of Vivid Sydney is the multimedia interactive light sculptures and building projections that transform various buildings and landmarks in and around the Sydney CBD and Sydney Harbour into an outdoor night time canvas of art.
In recent years the outdoor exhibition and events have attracted more than 500,000 people.

Funny thing is ... I don't think I have a decent photo of the Opera House without the laser show. But then who cares ... looks way more interesting like this huh? ;)

Cool set MA, great effects and very well shot.

You have stolen my thunder a bit. They are doing a similar thing in Adelaide for the 40th anniversary of the Adelaide Festival Theatre (although on smaller scale). I was planning to go out this week and shoot it. I wont bother now :shrug:

Go shoot it and show your work! It's not like it's the same show so the patterns will all be different and on a different canvas from the Opera House. I, for one, would love to see it. Don't let me down now.

Ha - I was jesting. I will try to get out (if the end of financial year does not interfere with my plans). I am hoping my new tripod will arrive this week, and I want to give it a test run.

It was very cool to watch too. The patterns were totally dynamic, moving all the time.

It is cool indeed! Only takes about 20 mins to roll through it all but I watched it over and over!
