Yeah, I really like this photo. Good incorporation of your surroundings. Really a good concept and shot. Good job.
I look at this and I think of how this stay at home mom feels trapped when doing laundry day in and day out...I get that sense from this photo. Like she wants to go out but can't.
I can get a story out of this..I like it!

Thanks for all of the replies and comments:)
This was a concept shoot and was done in a local laundromat. Brandy is the model who is a studying hairstylist and make up artist. A canon 430 flash was placed in a dryer on a gorilla tripod. I softened the light a bit by attaching white material on the inside of the dryer with magnets. The flash was set on manual at 1/4 power and was fired with the cybersynchs.
Finally I asked the model to looked scared. I think I got a concerned look *LOL*
Thanks again :)

Stunning shot, although I might have cloned the scratches from the glass and darkened the heel of the palm ever so slightly. The light on her neck and face is fantastic.

I think the shot is cool, but I find the shadows on the face to unorganised(blotchy) and distracting.

I love it! To make it even better though I would have to agree with Travis. I think if her face was closer to the dryer opening and her other hand was up then it wouldn't have cast those shadows on her face.
That being said, pat yourself on the back, that's a nice shot. I assume you have some more from that shoot?

There are shadows there, no doubt about that. But taken in context of the location (i.e. not a studio) they don’t kill the image. One light flash can produce strong shadows and some like that. But you’re right, they can be controlled. A modeling lamp thrown in the dryer along with the flash could have helped to show where the shadows would fall.

youp - cool shot! i like how the dryer matches her makeup... looks almost underwater-like (could be a fun photoshop!). i agree the shadow on her chin (i think created by her thumb/hand) is a distraction, but still a fun photo, good comp & interesting subject. :)

I love the shadows and lighting in this. If I did anything different I'd just want it darker around the edge of the frame, especially at the bottom. Not so much that it blacks out the swimsuit though. Just my preference.
I have a perference for strong lighting and shadows when they are meant to be so the light on the hand and the light and shadows on her face just work for me totally.

This is a really good shot and at this point we are just trying to bring it to an "11"

I agree - The nicks/scratches between her hand and her head are distractions for me, much more so than the scratches below her hand. and yup The palm is a bit too bright. The shadow on the model's right cheek caused by the flash on her thumb is also a bit of a distraction. You may want to try to fix that.
All that said - still a very strong image!

Great suggestion. I was actually thinking about burning in the palms a bit today:) and it could use a little cloning from the scratches.
Thanks for the input.
