I thought the image was better as a mono image. I have added the colour image only because I would like to know if i was justified in my decision.

This post made me consider further the difference to me between color photos and monotone photos. For this case, I really like the color version. The blue sky and green grass are well saturated, and in my opinion, add to the story of the photo, ie. on a pretty nice day a storm blew up. I miss the colors in the converted photo. On the other hand, I understand that the colors can be evoked readily in imagination, so the missing color is part of the "drama" of the monotone version. Still, my preference in this case is for the more complete information of the color version. It's a strong photo either way.
