This is one shot I got. Of the 3 days afield, only the last one were we at a good spot to photograph eagles.

Comments and Criticism appreciated.

Ok, I love looking at shots of Bald Eagles. This picture is an excellent capture. Nice stop action, looks sharp. Nice to get him facing into the sun instead of you looking into the sun. The only complaint I have with this picture is the sky in the background. Although it probably represents what the sky really looked like at the time, I might play with it a little more. Since these birds have a white head and tail, they are easily recognizable, especially against a darker background. The contrast between the head and tail really pops when there is white on dark or darker. That is only a minor criticism. This is a good picture, and it has eagle has a lot to say when you look at it. His eyes are intense and those talons are ready for business. Bombs away! Nice image. Thanks.

Is the eagle upside down? This is a wonderful capture!

an aside - I am in Davenport, Ia - we have eagles on the river here, too... Where on the river did you go?

I took this last Sunday (Feb 1) at Lock and Dam #14. Right in your yard! Were you there? Unfortunately, we didn't get there until mid-day.

so, in this case, the early bird did not get the worm - the mid day bird did! way to go!

I keep coming back to this shot. It is pretty sweet. The eyes are so intense.

Thanks to all who viewed my photo. While I have a long way to go to become a truly accomplished photographer, and will never get there, of course (being 71 years old), the journey is as important as the destination.

I really do appreciate teh feedback.

Thanks again to all.

Great capture! Looks like he is rolling into a dive to pluck a fish from the river.
