I love this picture, but I've been told it's boring. Perhaps.

But with no clear subject, this picture is ALL about an amazing sky for me.

It's great shot to me. To me it gives a peaceful mood and I'm drawn to the chairs setting on the dock. Makes me want to be setting there taking it all in. I would have cloned out the single white dot in the center of the pic.

Thanks :)
The white dot is a cottage light. I did clone out a buoy in the middle of the river.
And thank you, you confirmed my opinion on the chairs.

Looks good to me. Plenty of subject, and plenty of interest.

Ok I am noticing some serious differences between viewing my photo on here with my laptop, and on here with my ipad, yet on the original file which is on both units, they look same. Only difference is that i resized the one posted to fit guidelines on my laptop in PS. when I view this thread with my iPad, the sky goes gold :(

So I have to ask...when you see the picture in this post, are you seeing the top half of the sky as very magenta? or more golden? It should be magenta/pink toned.
I've been having color consistency issues (on laptop primarily) and it is starting to really p*** me off. It seems to be an issue ONLY when I process a photo in PS or LR.

I'm on a 27 inch iMac and I see it as you say it should be, magenta/pink. I haven't had my monitor calibrated with any kind of calibration software but I've never had issues with color or received any feedback that indicated my edited photos had bad color. I also use PS and LR.

I never judge color on a laptop because I just don't think the graphics card and monitor aren't up to par with the 1 or 2 dedicated gigs on cards in desktops with a quality monitor. For that reason I never do photo editing on my laptop. That's just me though. Maybe I've just never had a good enough laptop. I'm sure there are many, many who do use laptops for editing and are happy with the results. They are probably more skilled and have a keener eye than I though.

I'm also on a 27 inch Imac and it looks golden to me. Hardly any magenta at all. I do calibrate though mine is due so I'll do it soon and let you know shortly.

Recalibrated ... sticking with Golden.

On my 27" iMac that was calibrated the day before this post, I'm seeing more golden and rich orange.

mmmm... this leads me to think that maybe mine and the OP's monitors are equally uncalibrated. So now I need to look into a calibration. I've just never ran into an issue with my colors before, but I've never had a comparison such as this either. Glad this was brought to my attention.

Imac's are awesome but even they need calibration every few weeks. Ideally, even more often than that I reckon. I do mine fortnightly.

OK, I don't know if this will help, but since I noticed the other photos I uploaded to the forum seem to be off for me as well (only when viewed on my iPad) and since different members are seeing them differently, I uploaded the full size images to my smugmug. All have the same edits except of course, being heavily compressed.

Here is the link John Marks' Photos (http://smu.gs/Y4XYf7)

I don't know about anyone else, but this little glitch with the colors is bugging me and I have to figure it out before I have to edit photos for paying clients.
I've done shoots for clients but they were all free of charge through friends etc.

If you happen to look, please let me know if you see any differences. I'm hoping it is all just because of the different color space used in iPads, but odd part is that the original files look the same on both my machines. It seems as though that it's not untill I resize with PS that it seems to get funky.

Thanks.

Looks very peaceful, and would love to be sitting on those chairs by the dock.
