I am not even sure I like this image and originally passed it up for post processing. There is zero crop and all I did was adjust the saturation some

There's nothing wrong with it as a snapshot.
I think what it lacks is a focal point. Is about the cannon? the tree? The Plaque?

If it were about the general area then more of the lake would be needed. If it were about any of the specific elements then they need to feature far more strongly in some way.

I'm a bit with MA on this one...there's not really much of an impact or a story being told to the viewer here but as a personal shot of a place you went to visit it's a good memento.

I would say I would agree with the others, but I also don't think it's that bad of a photo though.
