An excellent shot but it's too freakin' early to think about winter!

After listening to the podcast, I really get this picture. Still, focus on the foreground (as you suggest) makes for a very evocative composition, meaning one wonders what lurks in the background, with very few, if any clues.
Excellent podcast full of good advice, not all of it photographic, which I enjoyed totally. Thanks.

I like how the road leads you eye to nothing it almost gives you a feeling of lonelyness.

Very bleak mood. Love the minimalism. Have not had a chance to listen to the podcast yet so do not know additional background. The rocks in the foreground are a bit disturbing; they look a bit like a body at first. 0.0

I'll start by saying it's a beautiful photo. I didn't get very far in the podcast - it's late and I'm feeling the day. But I did get as far as you talking about setting down the camera, and just listening. It's situations like this that you can listen. I like late fall and much of winter because people tend to say indoors and I have places to myself. It's partly temperament - I'm one that needs a lot of down time when it comes to people. I also find that even if there's a lot of activity from wildlife (geese are migrating, for instance), it's less frantic, at least to me (probably that not around people part again). So your photo evoked those memories and feelings for me. There hasn't been much of a winter that last couple of years here, and I'm hoping that changes. I miss the mood and the time to just soak it all in.

As has been said, a lovely minimalist, evocative image, made better after hearing the podcast

Very desolate, dreary mood, yet inviting to see where the road takes you. Well done Marko.
