I found a neat little trick for family gatherings mostly. I mount my 10-24 and put the camera on a mono-pod and then hold it as high above the crowd as the ceiling allows firing with a remote in aperture mode. Pretty cool results, most of the time.

Or 10 sec timer if you don't have a remote. :) I've done this too ;)
