Colour Solarization

Just playing around with a software filter. It can certainly create some different effects.

It's really incredible how good use of a filter (even digital) can totally transform a shot. This is a really cool shot tegan, is this filter from the Nik set you mentioned previously?

Is that just using a Solarization filter on a sunset shot or something? trying to figure out what the colour was originally lol.

That is a bright early afternoon shot with controlled solarization through a software filter.

I don't like it (is that ok? Please don't hate me :fingerscr )

I find that I personally don't go for the wierd filters etc that produce a shot that would never be seen in real life.

Having said that, if it was filtered further so that it became an artistic piece (say using the coloured pencil filter or whatever on it now) and no longer a photo at all I'd probably like it.

I might have to make a signature with a disclaimer for my mouth :rolleyes:

I like your photo. I think it's good to experiment, it means you're not afraid to take risks. Without risks we would not have seen the great works from Picasso, Braque, Monet, et al.

I also played around with Nik's filters and HDR software and got a wildly unexpected result.

I forgot to mention the original photo was taken with my Android, but I've done the same process with other photos taken with my Canon 5D Mk II.
