For those who might find it interesting I got approached by someone through Flickr to provide some photos of Halifax for a travel article he was writing. At first I was a bit suspicious (it's the Internet!) but it all seems to have worked out so far. You can find the article online at Halifax: ?heritage of a maritime legacy (http://serendib.btoptions.lk/article.php?id=760&issue=30) and I'm expecting a hard copy of the magazine and a cheque to arrive in the next few weeks.

Thank you, everyone. :)
Congrats Iggy. How did you handle licensing etc?
I was approached a couple of years ago for one of my images for an ad, but don't think I handled the negotiations well, to the point where I sounded totally inexperienced and it ended there. So interested should it happen again in the future.

Honestly, this was pretty "seat of my pants". We really didn't do any negotiations. The offer "felt legitimate" and I believed him. I'll know better when, and if, I actually get paid :). These were a small set of images that were simply collecting digital dust if you will and so and far from my best work. They're kinda touristy so I didn't mind letting them go. I hope I won't be disappointed but so far everything has been quite honest and above board. In other words (I'm a total noob too! ;) )

Cool. In my case, I was asked how I wanted to license the image and how much I wanted, rather than have an offer made. My response would have made it obvious I was new the selling of images. In any case I was the same, I'd already got what I wanted from the image, if I got some bucks for the image it was a bonus.
