Thanks vyeko- this is one of those happy screw ups, I didn't check the iso settings and it was at 800 in the brilliant sun- hence the 1/4000 shutter speed.

Wish my screw ups would result in such a positive outcome. Amazing detail! On my computer screen the image gives me the impression of a fine art painting. Beautiful.
