This is a two shot HDR from a trip yesterday to a Philadelphia museum called The Franklin Institue. On the roof, they have an observatory, and since the weather was spectacular, they had the roof open, and the scope pointed at the sun, with a special Hydrogen Alpha filter in place, allowing safe viewing of the solar prominences and sunspots....

Sure is a great angle and fabulous image. The flare works for me. Thanks for the explanation. I can't imagine doing that with an unfiltered lens would be good for ones eye :)

I agree with everyone - beauty of a shot! Also, I enjoyed looking at the mount. That's a very interesting and unique way the scope is counterweighted.
