Hey all,
This is a seven hunderd years old church found in one of the islands of Northen Ethiopia. I hope you find it interesting.

Old stone church bell. The two small stones on top of the big one are used to hit the big one at differnet places to give out different sounds which convey different message for the monks in the island.

Fascinating! I wonder what all the imagery means in the murals. Lots going on there.

Thanks celksy! They are mostly stories from the bible. For example, the first one is picture of St. George. Second one is the birth of Jesus Christ. In the middle of the third one is the sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham.

Fantastic. I love the colour and detail in the murals. From seeing the outside, I would never guess that these murals were inside.

Very interesting series. Like HBG said it nice to see pictures from other parts of the world, and you've told the story of this church very well in your images.
