On our drive back from Tombstone Arizona I saw a sign for the "Casa Grande Monument" and pulled in. This structure was created by the native population of the Sonoran Desert and is at least 650 years old. Not bad for a structure made out of wood and mud. It was later in the afternoon and the sun was interfering with the angle I wanted to take this shot of. I decided to embrace the sun flare, shot multiple exposures that I blended in Photomatix.
To preserve the structure the roof was built a few years ago.

I really like the interior b&w. What did it feel like being in something so old?

really nice set, I dig it! Good on you for embracing the "distraction" in shot 1 and doing something interesting with it.

I'm glad you added other photos because the first shot makes it look about 3 feet high :)
That's amazing that a mud structure like that has lasted so long. Why do use bricks these days you have to wonder? :)

it was very cool. I love old homes/churches/structures- they have a real vibe to it. I had fun trying to imagine what life would have been like for them
Nice series. Love the sky in the first shot.

Thought I had already commented on this but I guess I hadn't.
I really like in the first one how you've incorporated the flare in what is obviously a difficult exposure. Also as MA said, it does look small until you see the scale with the people in the second picture
Also love that B&W interior shot.
