View Full Version : Railroad swing bridge in Welland, Ontario

had to go to Welland today for an errand so I brought along some kit. Shot one of the many unique railroad bridges that are located in the Niagara region on Ontario St.

This bridge acutally rotated on a center point to allow lake freighters to pass on either side of it.

Used my Sigma 8-16mm rectilinear wide angle zoom for this.

Nice image. I have shot this same bridge from the other side of the canal.

Cheers Rinkdaddy, Hillbillygirl and aubintbay - been eyeing this bridge for some time as a subject. The brush along the canal is so thick it is hard to a clear shot. I've been thinking about doing a whole series on the unique railway bridges ( we have a large number of unique truss designs) that exist in Niagara in medium format.
