Suggestions needed! :0)

I don't know about everyone else but I'm sick of this cold. Maybe our theme could be: things that are warm and cozy. Just one idea.

Robin

wet or drip

ninjas!

Well, some people might have a hard time finding ninjas... So here are some others.

Trying to take pictures of something "new".

"Roads"

I also like the warm and cozy idea.

I'm having sllllowwwww Net problems for the next few days so I'll make the decision here if that's okay.

I too like the warm and cozy Idea...

who is going first?

Thx everyone!
Marko

Is all bundled up warm and cozy on her 24th day of life. Temps out side were a bit on the chilly side.

Nice shot TT and way to fit the theme :highfive: - If I may, the top edge could use a burn.

Thanks so much for the kind remark, Marko! --

Great pic, love the DOF. What lens was it taken with?

This one is not cheating since we decided on the theme before the shot was taken ;)

As a side note - See that rusty paint can on the right, THAT was what I spent most of the time shooting...My wife's not even surprised at the crazy stuff that catches my eye anymore. :D

Not technically impressive by any stretch but I love the warmth of this photo.

I take it that you prefer people to specifically go out and take a new photo to suit the current months assignment rather than digging out something from the collection then?

That's fair enough. I'll probably wait for February's assignment seeing as I've only recently joined up and it's mid summer here in Aussie (35 degrees C - 95 F - right now - ) where warm and cozy has been surpassed by hot and stinky!! ;)

But here's a shot of a fella that looks warm and cozy to me in his fur coat.
I found him very late in the afternoon on the way home a few days ago (Tues Jan 13 2009) from teaching my daughter some photography tips with the camera I sold her.
Note the funky ear bling he's sporting, nothing like a new age Koala!

Please Note: Not sure whats happening but I can't seem to get this image to upload with anything near the clarity I see on my pc prior to upload. Tried jpg and png but it still loses focus/clarity.

Mad Aussie - what a trip to see these fellas in the wild! How tame are they?

I could half ruin the tourist industry here ;)

I live on the northern outskirts of the Brisbane area. It takes me 30 mins to drive into the city centre itself.

This Koala was about 1 1/2 k's from home. We see them from time to time. Some suburbs have a few around, others have none.

They look all cute and cuddly don't they? And they are super soft to the touch, just like you'd dream them to be. In captivity they are indeed very docile. (I must head up to Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo again soon .. it's only about 50 mins drive away)

However, the wild ones like this one should never be touched at all. Although most will just sit in the tree and watch you while you point and take photos before getting bored and climbing further up and away from the aliens, if you cornered one on the ground expect to hear lots of strange grunting sounds and to lose copius amounts of skin and some blood when he tears into you in self defence. You really would have to actually grab a wild Koala to experience that though.

I'm guessing his ear bling is an electronic tag.

Hey Mad Aussie

A self portrait catching a wave on a surf board or a warm cozy beach would suit us Canadians just fine!

Cheers

A self portrait of me surfing would be a challenge! I'd have to leave my camera on the beach and surf towards before triggering the shutter when I thought I was close enough :D Pass! The camera would be stolen before I duck dived the first wave on my way out there! That, and I haven't surfed for about 25 years! :p
