To saturated, your focus even on the main focal point is very soft. Also too much reflection on the glass. Your back ground is not soft enough or I would prefer it more in focus. If you could eliminate some of the light in the room change the angle a bit I think it might work better. Also dust of anything yo plan to photograph, some windex on the glass I think would have helped.
Nice attempt but the fist and biggest issue is the image s just fat to soft. Just my :twocents:

Hi omhubbard,
A good attempt. I like the composition and it is clear what your subject matter is.
A couple of additional points. The vertical lines in the image should be straightened in post processing or take some extra time to look around in the frame to insure that the background "holds-up" in the image. I think the white balance is a bit off as we are seeing a very yellowish tint. So next time try the shot using a preset white-balance on the point & shot.
I personally would like to see the background a bit more blurry but I'm not sure that it can be accomplished on a point & shoot camera as this will depend on the aperture control you have.
Keep on experimenting.
