I blogged (http://www.photography.ca/blog/?p=195) this pic as well but I'd be curious to know what people think.

Thanks as always,

Marko

Well spotted; I like this image. The only slight crit is that whatever is under the grate, esp. camera left, is slightly distracting.

It's weird how the curved grates in the top right corner are curved the opposite way to the other three quarters of the "circle". They curve inwards, rather than outwards....

(Either that, or your lens is *really* broken... hehe!)

I like the pattern. I also like the texture of the snow granules, and the way they make the pattern.

Some thoughts:
(1) The snow isn't bright white on my monitor. I don't know if it is a little dark, or my monitor is off
(2) If you crop the right and left side of the photo, the pattern becomes a Cross. Maybe you can find a second image in there somewhere.
(3) The granular snow is neat, I wonder if there is some way to enhance that look

the texture really stands out to me in this shot - really nice! the pattern is cool too, although i wish it had a consistant circular motion to it, so it would appear more 'bulls-eye-ish' but thats out of your control.... what is this anyways? if you dont mind sharing... :)

Thanks all - It was a grate of some kind...I didn't pay too much attention to what it actually was - my bad.

The asymmetry of it is the part that I actually like as I find it makes my eye move around a bit more.

Thanks again,
Marko

I like the grate. You could always burn that bar underneath out of the image.
